GBO?
Google Lens says: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bank_Observatory?wprov=sfla1
Bummer, I was hoping it’d be Great Big Observatory given how silly some astronomy naming conventions are.

Great Bounce Off, it’s a trampoline right?
Like others said, the green bank observatory. I meant to type it out in the post in the text description.
No big deal. I only ask to spark conversation, instead of looking it up myself.
This is actually the GBT, green bank telescope. Gbo would be the name for the whole sight.
Actually actually it would be the Robert C Byrd gbt, but he was a kkk member so that’s not super cool. I ran some summer camps there in college and did a lot of research with its data.

With banana person for scale
That’s much closer than I got in my car without taking the tour. Was it off? Or do you work there and that Liberty is a diesel?
And yes, for those that question it, there are diesel Liberties. Far as I know, only diesels are allowed within a mile of the telescope because spark plugs cause radio interference
The diesel thing is correct and it belongs to GBO. I was there for others stuff with my university.
The thing at the back looks like a massive Strandbeest.
Does have similarity in style. This is the worlds largest (steerable) radio telescope.
I thought it looked like an arm flexing.
That photo is so bad. What is it supposed to highlight? There are three objects shown and none seems to be the focus of the picture. It’s also not a composition that makes much sense. I’m not even a photographer, never learned much about that either. Man, this really annoys me way more than it should. But it’s just so bad.
I disagree. The pointlessness creates a liminal space.
OK, what pics do you have to post to improve the community then? Nobody said this c/ has to be artsy.
You can critique something that is needlessly bad. Like, take ten steps and take a clear picture without that damn car and building.
You’re not wrong. Part is I liked the perspective and where I was standing for a picture.
I believe he was trying to create some scale
I don’t think you know the difference between a critique and just being negative. Your comments are needlessly rude.
