peoplebeproblems@midwest.socialto World News@lemmy.world•Russia offers political asylum to Elon Musk over Trump feudEnglish1·1 day agoThe numbers floated around were a healthy population of “around 100m” and Bondi stated something about saving 75% of Americans.
They lie, but they certainly can’t come up with numbers for a lie.
peoplebeproblems@midwest.socialto World News@lemmy.world•Russia offers political asylum to Elon Musk over Trump feudEnglish212·1 day agoSo it is all theatre.
Because Russia is now involved in the “fued.” Orchastraited by the Kremlin no doubt. Is it to set up reasoning to help Elon avoid legal consequences in exchange for money? Data? Is it to distract from the funding bill and policies being enacted to kill 258,000,000 Americans?

He finds her attractive and would have sex with her if she was his daughter
TBH that’s where I am. After learning and slowly coming to terms with the fact that I was in an abusive relationship for over a decade, I’m now at the point where I want to do things she prevented me from doing.
Like buying a sports car. I can’t really afford it, but I’m going to talk about it until I can.
Imagine you have a shovel. And a mountain of shit.
Once you start working through the mountain of shit, eventually you can see the shit that was occluded by the mountain of shit.
It may be bigger. It may be smaller. But there’s a lot there and you have to work through it anyway.

peoplebeproblems@midwest.socialto World News@lemmy.world•The ‘Man-Eater’ Screwworm Is Coming | After a decades-long campaign to beat the parasites down to Panama, they’re speeding back up north. - The AtlanticEnglish21·4 days agoI know this isn’t the time or place. But Death deserves a proper name. It’s a weird hill I preach on since figuring it out.
Death comes for us all.
Pestilence - disease, by virus, bacteria, parasite, prion, etc will lead to death.
Famine - starvation, or dehydration, or simply lack of proper nutrition leads to death.
War - violence, man vs man, for reasons unknown, but entirely human made leads to death.
Death - Leads to death? His name should be something else we fear. And what we fear is related to the above. A few names I propose are Mortality, Age, or just Time - we cannot live forever.

Went back in to grab my inhaler, as my chest was already starting to tighten up. Took it. Decided not to go back outside.
The lawn might look terrible but it’s not worth suffocating over
In my ex’s case, she was well aware of it. Apparently she “practiced it” since she was a child because she got sick and tired of being told to “smile” and that no one looked good frowning all the time. Self-proclaimed resting bitch face model too.
While she could take off and on this mask, it was incredibly draining to do it. But she also couldn’t not do it. It was weird.
Unfortunately for her, she also couldn’t comprehend the emotions of other people at all, and failed to grasp why I might be upset that she cheated on me, and why I might be more than happy to cut her off from the financial security that being married to me provided.
I don’t use a customer service voice, but my ex, holy shit did she have a customer service voice that she did automatically. I hated it. High pitched, overly friendly, clearly lying about who she was.
Drove me nuts. Shed use it for meeting people the first time too, and the longer she used it the friendlier they became, which reinforced it and ugh.
Hmmm.
This sort of implies that our immediate understanding of sight is inaccurate until we analyze it more?
Fascinating

Non-steroidal-anti-inflamatorirs can cause damage to your stomach and kidneys.
Acetaminophen/Paracetol metabolizes in the liver a similar way alcohol does, and like alcohol has a maximum rate of clearing the toxin.
