lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.ml•Self-hosting your own media considered harmful according to YouTubeEnglish1·17 hours agoyeah but on other sites that gets removed. if you’re blockchain-backed, it stays online. also, most places remove hate speech. if you’re a “free speech absolutism” platform, guess where all the nazis are gonna go.
lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.ml•Self-hosting your own media considered harmful according to YouTubeEnglish273·1 day agoproblem with odysee is that it’s full of nazis so nobody wants to use it. like literally, one of the first videos that comes up is from the nordic resistance movement. and since it’s based on the lbry blockchain illegal content can’t be removed, only hidden from the frontend.

lime!@feddit.nuto Linux@lemmy.ml•Full disk encryption - Hibernation and unlockingEnglish46·2 days agohibernation is in general not supported with full disk encryption, and is not recommended. you can do it but it’s a hassle and will lead to hangs on wakeup if you don’t configure it correctly. i gave up on it.

lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.world•True Wireless Power is FINALLY here (building a TRULY wire-free desk setup)English11·3 days agono. i don’t pretend to even begin to understand how the prototype at wardenclyffe was supposed to work. i do remember that it supposedly used the atmosphere as a transmission line, but whether that meant bouncing the signal off of it (meaning it was radio based) or somehow charging it (meaning it was static based) i couldn’t tell you.
lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.world•True Wireless Power is FINALLY here (building a TRULY wire-free desk setup)English81·3 days agoit’s not a news video.
lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.world•True Wireless Power is FINALLY here (building a TRULY wire-free desk setup)English4·3 days agotesla’s idea was global wireless power. no idea what his efficiency numbers were though.
lime!@feddit.nuto Technology@lemmy.world•True Wireless Power is FINALLY here (building a TRULY wire-free desk setup)English4·3 days agoit does say on the site for the device that it draws 100W, but in the video he says that there is a 10W minimum draw, so i’m assuming it goes up from there
