It’s about reasonableness - that is, not just mindlessly solving math. The solution is that Marty’s pizza was bigger, so 4/6 of that was more than 5/6 of Luis’, smaller pizza.
There is no lie. The teached is just dumb. Or more likely overworked, but wrong nontheless.
