CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does anyone use a phone without a protective case?English12·4 days agoI don’t use them. Or screen protectors . I take good care of my devices, and my phone gets its own pocket always, so no scratches. I’ve only broken 1 phone in my life and it was only the back glass on an iPhone 4, which slipped off my motorcycle seat because that fucking phone was frictionless.

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s an unspoken rule that absolutely everyone should know, but most people clearly don’t?English4·5 days agoIf he’s putting it up on the curb he’s doing the best for his situation and to me that’s fine. The damage comes from people leaving them just laying around and then the wind picks up. I have been around the block a few times it’s true but in my life I’ve saved at least 3 people’s cars from getting dented by carts I saw flying through the parking lot because of wind.
Does he ask for help? Even if it’s not a normal thing at that store, a nice conversation with a store manager can go a long way in my experience. Maybe it’s because I live in a neighborhood with a significant amount of older folks (at least that’s what it looks like at the grocery store!) but I bet any grocery will do that if you ask.

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s an unspoken rule that absolutely everyone should know, but most people clearly don’t?English41·5 days agoThe carts go back in the corral so they don’t damage other people’s cars, not for convenience. I’m sorry your friend is hurt but my property shouldn’t be damaged because of that. And nobody’s going to judge him if he leaves it next the handicapped parking space he was in. Anyway, all the grocery stores by me will literally send someone to push the cart and put your groceries in the car for you if you’re unable. The cashiers will even straight up ask if they think you need help.

I’m actually on an SNRI (like SSRI but also inhibits dopamine reuptake) as part of my adhd treatment so sadly that won’t do it for me. I think my brain just ignores hunger when I’m too busy to think about food, then eventually it just yells YO FEED ME.
I don’t get hungry often, at least not the way I think normal people do. I usually go from ‘fine’ to ‘more than mildly queasy’ in a couple minutes, then I have to rush to find something to throw in my stomach. It’s like flipping a light switch. This usually only happens when I have some project I’m focusing on.
The United States is comprised of 50 states so your hyperbole is going nowhere. Israel is a separate nation no matter how close friends the pair of assholes are. You have not countered my argument.
We weren’t talking about Israel. That’s why it’s whataboutism regardless of the veracity of your claims.
Where did I say they were THE big bad? I’m ok with hating all authoritarian regimes including the one I live under.
Why are you so big on defending their image?
Thanks for the whataboutism. Israel can go fuck itself too, they are worse at the moment.
I don’t need everyone else to be perfect to level valid criticism.
Please note the very real situation I mentioned above. That’s reality whether China wants to try and scrub it from history or not. The fact that they won’t even let their citizens discuss it is telling enough. They deserve the hate.
I was just gonna go with “Who gives a shit?” but you put it better.
